Earlier this year, Governor Corzine warned citizens that New Jersey faced a $4 billion deficit if “something” wasn’t done. But rather than reducing wasteful government spending, Governor Corzine and his legislative allies hiked taxes by $2 billion.

Now, lawmakers have promised that they will “details to follow” provide citizens with a 20 percent property tax cut, yet they refuse to cut spending. What politicians are really talking about is grabbing control over local governments and redistributing your tax dollars to their pet special interest groups.

Raising taxes, creating more programs, paying government employees excessive salaries and benefits, and then transferring money to special interests isn’t tax relief.
